Hector Trujilo and his wife Emily planned on opening Maricopa’s newest clothing store, Fashion & More, the second week of December. Eager shoppers had other plans. “People just keep banging on the door wanting to come in,” Emily said. “They didn’t want to wait for us to open.” So, with only a portion of their inventory in place, the Trujilos gave the shoppers what they wanted, opening nearly a month ahead of schedule. “My husband figured we might as well let them in,” Emily said. Fashion & More offers affordably priced clothing, purses, jewelry, shoes and more. “Some of the dresses we carry sell at the mall for $60, but here they are only $15,” Emily said. “Our prices are very reasonable.” In addition to the low-priced clothing and accessories, the store offers customers an additional way to save: a $10 annual membership card. “Our membership card entitles shoppers to 10 percent off all purchases,” Emily said. “It pays for itself in a couple of purchases.” If the discounts are not enough of an enticement for shoppers, there are raffle prizes. Fashions & More will raffle off a popular item each month to its customers. December’s prize is a Nintendo Wii, which will be given away Dec. 20. “Just in time for Christmas,” Emily said. The Trujilos moved to Maricopa in April from Tucson in an attempt to be closer to another business the couple owns in the Valley. At a glance: Business: Fashion & More
