While Pinal County election workers continue tabulating ballots from Tuesday’s primary, turnout remains below the statewide average and several of Maricopa’s biggest races are still too close — or too early — to call.
As of this morning, 55,698 ballots had been counted among Pinal County’s 289,237 registered voters, a turnout of 19.26%. Statewide, turnout stood at 22.90%.
Among Maricopa precincts, one neighborhood stood well above the rest.
Province recorded the city’s highest turnout, with 1,061 of its 2,725 registered voters casting ballots — a turnout of 38.94%, more than double the citywide rate and well above the statewide average.
At the other end of the spectrum, Alterra North recorded the city’s lowest turnout among Maricopa precincts included in the latest unofficial results. Just 336 of its 3,099 registered voters cast ballots, a turnout of 10.84%.

Election officials are expected to release another unofficial ballot update Wednesday afternoon, which could reshape several local races, including Maricopa City Council and Western Pinal justice of the peace.
Residents can watch the ballot tabulation process live through the Pinal County Elections Department livestream as workers continue processing Election Day ballots.
