Maricopa resident Melody Morris’ bid for the $750,000 “Big Brother” prize ended during the show’s Egyptian eviction.
The Rancho Mirage resident was eliminated in the episode that aired Sept. 23 on CBS, finishing fifth.
Drew Campbell, her “flirtmance” partner in the house, cast the only vote to keep her.
Campbell voted to evict Taylor Brown, while Dee Valladares voted against Morris. With the vote tied 1-1, Head of Household Rick Devens cast the deciding vote to evict Morris.
The result sent Morris to the jury and ended her chance at winning Season 28.
Devens initially nominated Morris and Campbell for eviction. Campbell won the Power of Veto and removed himself from the block, leaving Brown as his replacement.
Morris campaigned to stay, but Campbell’s support was not enough.
The Egyptian eviction was part of the season’s Pharaoh’s Curse twist. Instead of the usual voting routine, houseguests smashed an artifact representing the contestant they wanted to evict.
Her departure left Campbell, Brown, Valladares and Devens as the final four at that point in the competition.
InMaricopa introduced Morris to readers in July when she joined the CBS reality show.
Morris studied sports journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Her background includes sports reporting, social media work and stand-up comedy.
Before entering the house, she worked as a host for Game Show Battle Rooms.
Morris became the season’s fifth juror. She will help decide which remaining contestant wins the grand prize.
