Maricopa’s future teachers no longer have to travel far to earn their education degree.
Central Arizona College is accepting applications for its fall and spring cohorts of the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program, giving students across Arizona the option to complete upper-division coursework entirely online, according to a press release.
The four-year program builds on an associate degree in elementary education and prepares students to pursue Arizona teacher certification for grades K-8. Students complete 120 hours of field experience before a 12-week student teaching assignment, giving them hands-on classroom experience before becoming teachers.
The program’s live virtual classes allow students to earn their bachelor’s degree from anywhere in Arizona while connecting with faculty and classmates online.
Graduates will be eligible to seek an Arizona Standard Teacher Certificate in Elementary Education for grades K-8, with Structured English Immersion and K-5 Literacy endorsements.
Applications are being accepted for both cohorts. More information is available at centralaz.edu/bsee or by emailing elementaryeducation@centralaz.edu.
