UPDATE 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 25:

Kyran Kellum, 16, has been located and is safe, said Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams.

PREVIOUS STORY:

When Sorrento resident Angie Rabenberg Kellum went to wake up her 16-year-old son for school this morning, panic washed over her as all she found was an empty bed.

Kyran Kellum, 16, was first reported missing at 10 p.m. last night, a Maricopa Police Department spokesperson tells InMaricopa.

Kyran didn’t make it to class at Basha High School in Chandler this morning. Police believe he is still inside city limits.

“Our officers made contact with him in our city this morning, but it appears he has run away again,” MPD spokesperson Monica Williams said. “He did not appear to be in any immediate danger, but his information was circulated to our officers and surrounding agencies so they could be on the lookout for him.”

As of 11 a.m., Kyran is still missing.

“We think he had a psychotic break,” mom Angie said. “There are some holes in our puzzle we are trying to work out.”

The teen was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, and blue and black plaid pajama pants. He is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen near Alan Stephens Parkway in Glennwilde, Williams said.

If you have any information about the missing teen’s whereabouts, contact the MPD non-emergency line at 520-568-3673, dial 9-1-1 or call Angie at 480-818-8615.
