Maricopa residents with unusual antiques and stories behind them could soon catch the attention of “American Pickers.”
The History Channel series plans to film in Arizona, Southern California and Nevada in December, according to producers. While the production team is seeking private collections statewide, its announcement does not confirm a Maricopa filming stop.
Maricopa has appeared on the show before when they visited Raceway Bar & Grill, which opened back in 2008.
Associate Producer Amanda Jane Stern said the team wants interesting people with distinctive collections and extraordinary stories.
The series follows antique hunters searching for rare objects, forgotten relics and pieces of American history to purchase.
The show’s wish list includes vintage toys, motorcycles, old advertising signs, gas station memorabilia and early furniture from private collections. Producers also welcome folk art, military items, jukeboxes and unusual collections.
Items from stores, flea markets, malls, museums, auction businesses or anything open to the public will not be considered.
Interested residents should email americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 646-493-2184.
Submissions should include the collector’s full name, city, state, phone number and the collection’s location. Include a description, photographs and the stories behind the items.
More information is available through the American Pickers Facebook page.
