When voters approved the override in 2016 and renewed it in 2021, MUSD made a promise: to maintain lower class sizes, keep classroom technology current, and provide RAM Academy, an alternative credit recovery program where approximately 60 students earn diplomas each year. These investments also help the district retain excellent teachers.
As a taxpayer, I take that accountability seriously. Voters should be able to see where their money went and whether the district delivered what it promised. MUSD did.
Families in Maricopa have educational choices, and MUSD must compete for students and great teachers. The override helps the district remain a strong choice.
The impact reaches beyond the classroom. Businesses considering Maricopa look closely at the quality of our schools. Strong schools attract excellent employers, stimulate our local economy and protect property values.
Proposition 416 is not a new tax. It continues locally controlled funding already approved by voters.
MUSD made commitments. It followed through. Proposition 416 keeps that progress moving forward.
Vote YES on Proposition 416.
