Maricopa police detained multiple kids after a fight at Copper Sky Recreation Complex’s skate park Friday night.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the skate park area after a report of a fight involving a “large group of juveniles,” according to an MPD statement.

Officers responded and detained multiple people. Copper Sky was told to shelter in place for a brief period of time.

In the police statement, Maricopa police squashed social media rumors of a shooting at the park. “Social media speculation about a shooting is unfounded.”
