WATCH: Sidewalk squatter caught on camera could be a Chinese hoax

An incident allegedly caught on camera yesterday will have us watching where we step for a few days.

Maricopa resident Ryan Terrell posted home surveillance footage in a Maricopa Facebook group yesterday showing a person he says defecated on the sidewalk in front of his house.

“Help me identify this woman,” Terrell wrote. “She thought it would be a good idea to just [poop emoji] on the sidewalk.”

The 24-second video showed an unidentified person dressed in winter gear pulling down their pants, bending over and doing a number two on the sidewalk. The person proceeded to look back, pull up their pants and then walk away with a cup of coffee in their hands.

With more than 1,500 views in the now-deleted post’s brief life, it brought on a crapload of comments and reactions.

“That coffee is kicking,” wrote Rancho Mirage resident Adam Miller.

“It was the Taco Bell, man,” wrote Ivan Ricardo Solis.

And while some group members let loose the coffee, Taco Bell and future itchiness jokes, others were suspicious.

“This can’t be here,” wrote Nicole Renee. “Why is she wearing a beanie and jacket?”

Those suspicions continued with the fact Terrell did not report the incident to police, it seems.

“Based on what’s provided, there are no reports this week of anything of that nature,” said MPD spokesperson Monica Williams.

And even when InMaricopa offered to help Terrell to track down the culprit, Terrell only responded with a laughing emoji. The post was deleted later that afternoon. Whomp, whomp.

And it looks like those suspicions may be true.

A few seconds of the video was found in a 2021 video posted on Bilibili, a Chinese video-sharing site. That would mean Terrell’s claims are likely fake in the same way a July claim of a jenkem attack was also a bogus bluff.

The whole situation may be much a-poo about nothing, but it wouldn’t be the first time a Maricopa resident was publicly found in a compromising situation.

In August, surveillance and body cam footage was released of a vitamin aisle piddler caught with his stick and berries dangling out of his pants. And a woman was caught on home surveillance footage popping a squat on someone’s doormat in December.
