Three Maricopa Unified School District elementary schools earned A grades from the Arizona Department of Education, recognizing their performance under the state’s school accountability system.
Pima Butte, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa elementary schools each received an A in the latest ratings.
“These schools exemplify instructional excellence and a shared commitment to student growth. ‘A’ grades reflect high expectations and thoughtful planning that define our student-centered classrooms. We are so proud of our students and staff,” Superintendent Tracey Lopeman said in a district announcement.
Arizona’s school letter grades are based on multiple measures, including standardized test scores and student growth. The state’s accountability system is intended to provide families with information about school performance.
The district received a B overall. Lopeman said MUSD remains focused on improving performance across its campuses while recognizing schools that earned high marks.
“We celebrate these accomplishments while staying focused on continued growth across the district. Reporting the grades for all MUSD schools informs our community and enriches the partnership we share with our stakeholders,” she said.
