State Route 347 drivers, this is your lucky week. Tonight is the only time over the next week our beleaguered roadway will face lane restrictions.
Or at least until further notice.
The Arizona Department of Transportation issued a travel update today stating northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane between Maricopa city limits and Casa Blanca Road from 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 until 4 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
Crews will conduct materials testing during the restriction.
In another piece of positive news, your commuting sacrifices have paid off: Paving is ahead of schedule.
“The weekend work has put the paving on track to be complete by Thanksgiving instead of the end of the year,” Joanna Bradley, ADOT assistant director of communications and major projects, told InMaricopa earlier this month.
For now, drivers should plan for the overnight restriction and watch for further updates from ADOT.
