‘B*tch ass boy’: Man accused of driving onto sidewalk to pass trash truck

William R. Sands, 63, was arrested May 15. [Pinal County Sheriff's Office]

A Maricopa Meadows man was arrested Friday after police said he drove onto a sidewalk to pass a trash truck and nearly struck a worker near Dirk Street and Kari Lane.

William R. Sands, 63, was arrested May 15 on suspicion of reckless driving and disorderly conduct, according to a probable cause statement filed in court.

Police said Sands was driving a gold 2009 Honda Pilot about 11 a.m. when he drove onto the sidewalk in an attempt to get around a trash truck.

A trash truck “swinger,” described in the report as the worker who moves trash cans and dumps them into the truck, was on the sidewalk and was nearly struck, police said.

The worker motioned for Sands to get off the sidewalk, according to the report. Sands allegedly rolled down his window and repeatedly yelled, “What, what are you going to do about it b*tch ass boy, b*tch ass boy,” according to the victim.

Police said several surveillance videos corroborated the victims’ statements, showing Sands enter the sidewalk and yell out his car window.

A neighbor also told police they heard Sands yelling from his vehicle and heard him call both the trash employee and another person an “a**hole,” according to the report.

Sands later admitted to driving onto the sidewalk to get around the trash truck but denied any name-calling, police said. He’ll face up to one year in jail if convicted.

  1. Guess who’s the gonna be the b** ass boy when he goes to jail?? Hope you find yourself a nice husband w that hair.

  2. Ya know… not really surprising to see this here. This guy is one of the most entitled assholes that I have ever met. A self-proclaimed expert on just about everything, this guy flaunts his disregard for others all-day-long. He’s been in verbal altercations with most of his neighbors and loves to promote his superiority when speaking to people of color, women, or folks who aren’t straight (this is my nice way of saying he’s a racist bigot who has no qualms dropping just about every racial, bigoted, or sexist slur there is). Glad to see that he finally got some justice. It’s only a matter of time before he’s back on In Maricopa for more of his shenanigans.

    1. Nah, RED will always hold the crown followed by Tortosa. Meadows is extremely uneventful in comparison.

  3. I’m late to this party, busy week, but I gotta ask…

Did he catch a case for that hair?

    Because he really should.
