Staff for U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) plan to host mobile office hours in Maricopa more often.
Field Representative Lori Mills told InMaricopa yesterday that although Crane’s staff has an office in the city, appearances at the library have seemed more inviting for residents.
“I’m going to try to do it every other month here because we have a big constituent base here,” she said.
This year, Crane’s appearances in Maricopa have come about every three months.
A spokesperson for Crane was not immediately available to confirm when the additional office hours will be.
Because Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District is so large — it covers more than 20,000 square miles across nine counties — and Crane’s main offices are in Washington, D.C., and Prescott, his staff set up mobile office hours in various cities and towns to accommodate constituents.
Crane lives outside his district in Oro Valley, which is allowed, making Maricopa his closest field office geographically.

The increased frequency means staff may host office hours in September and November, when the freshman lawmaker is up for reelection. The last time Crane hosted mobile office hours in Maricopa was in April.
