Exceptional Pets is closing shop after five years in business.
The veterinary clinic informed clients last night that it will officially shutter its two locations Nov. 20. The clinics are in Maricopa and central Mesa.
“Our team is so grateful for many wonderful years of serving pets in our community,” Exceptional Pets owners said in a statement. “Due to ongoing challenges from the nationwide shortage and current economic conditions, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close Exceptional Pets of Mesa and Maricopa.”
The announcement took Maricopa pet parents by surprise, with many scrambling for alternatives.
“So sad, we have personally received excellent service for our dogs from Exceptional Pets,” said Rancho El Dorado resident Clint Wooton.
Exceptional Pets entered the Maricopa market in 2019 when it took over the former Pet Club at 21145 N. John Wayne Parkway.
Other veterinary options in Maricopa include Maricopa Animal Hospital, Maricopa Wells Veterinary Hospital and Petco’s vaccination clinic.
