UPDATE 6:55 a.m., July 9, 2026: Not paying attention resulted in a roll over crash that caused minor injuries on State Route 347, said a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety. 

The two-vehicle crash occurred at 4:32 a.m. near milepost 178, just south of Casa Blanca Road, caused traffic to back up past Smith-Enke Road by 6 a.m. DPS reported minor injuries and troopers determined the crash was caused by “inattention.” The crash has since been cleared. 

ORIGINAL STORY 5:35 a.m., July 9, 2026: A multivehicle crash is slowing the morning commute on northbound State Route 347.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:48 a.m. today near Casa Blanca Road and is blocking the left lane, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Traffic has backed up past Cobblestone Farms Drive.

Social media users reported seeing at least five vehicles involved and emergency vehicles on scene.

A spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety could not confirm the number of vehicles involved, but said state troopers are investigating an injury collision in the area. The extent of injuries was not immediately available.
