A Rancho Mirage woman is in the running to win big bucks from Big Brother.
Melody Morris, 24, was announced yesterday as one of 14 contestants competing in the long-running reality show’s newest season, according to a press release. Contestants will compete for a $750,000 grand prize.
In a cast introduction video posted to YouTube, Morris described herself as “ambitious, bold and funny” and said she hopes fellow contestants underestimate her as “just some dumb typical blonde sorority girl.”
“Some of those things are true,” she said. “But I am very intelligent, I’m very quick-witted and I know how to get what I want.”
According to her online résumé, Morris studied sports journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. She has worked as a sports reporter for the Arizona Interscholastic Association, a social media manager for Cronkite News and a stand-up comedian. She now works as a game show host for Game Show Battle Rooms.

Now in its 28th season, Big Brother follows contestants living together under constant camera surveillance as they compete to avoid weekly eliminations. The last houseguest remaining wins the $750,000 grand prize.
The show premieres 8 p.m. Thursday on CBS and is available to stream on Paramount+.
