Business owners know what works in Maricopa — and, apparently, it’s more drive-thru hamburger options.

Riverside, Calif.-based Farmer Boys (not to be confused with Maricopa’s Farmers Restaurant) submitted paperwork to bring its self-styled “farm fresh” burgers to Maricopa, according to a public records request returned yesterday.

The 2,700-square-foot burger restaurant would sit on a parcel next to The Home Depot on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road, according to the project narrative. It will have an outdoor dining patio and a double drive-thru line.

The menu includes their fiery Barn Burner, a double patty Bacon Boy and their classic Big Cheese burger, all served on a toasted brioche bun. And if you’re especially fond of their foods, they offer a “Very Important Farmers” loyalty club.

Farmer Boys joins Someburros Mexican Food and Zesty Zzeek’s Pizza as recently proposed restaurants slated to come to Maricopa. The fast-casual burger restaurant has more than 100 locations across California, Nevada and Arizona.

If approved, this will be Farmer Boys’ third Arizona restaurant. Its first opened in early 2021 in Gilbert and the second opened the following year in Tolleson.
