Liermann: Why I’m supporting Nuanes for constable

Councilmember Amber Liermann endorsed Tim Nuanes for Western Pinal County constable. [File, submitted]

To the editor,

I am writing in support of constable candidate Tim Nuanes and ask that you join me in voting for him on July 21, 2026. Tim has lived in Maricopa since 2020 and our paths cross regularly at community events such as the Greater Economic Business Alliance Gala, The Veteran Memorial Ceremony and local fundraisers.  He attended the National Day of Prayer in 2025 and 2026.

Tim has volunteered at Keep Maricopa Beautiful events and has been a supporter of moving the Maricopa First Friday event forward. I have come to see Tim’s passion, not just to serve as Maricopa’s constable, but his desire to serve the community in ways to make it a better place to live. Tim’s demeanor and approach exemplify his years of experience working with people with diverse backgrounds and creating a calm, comfortable environment in any environment he finds himself in.

Tim understands the role of a constable and the vital role his position has in Maricopa. When it comes to experience, commitment and knowledge, Tim Nuanes is a proven community member with the experience to serve as constable. For all these reasons, I am proud to support Tim. His experience, demeanor and commitment to Maricopa make him the right choice for constable. I hope you will vote for Tim to improve the level of customer service by our constable here in Maricopa.

  1. Another California transplant seeking local office. I’ve listened to Tim speak on several occasions, and I remain unconvinced about his reasons for running. What also stands out to me is that his presence in the community appears to be a fairly recent development. It raises the question of whether this involvement is driven by a genuine commitment to serving the community or simply by the desire to gain support and votes during a campaign.
Public office is a position of trust. Voters should look beyond campaign promises and ask whether a candidate has a consistent record of community involvement, leadership, and service long before deciding to seek elected office.

    1. I don’t care where he’s from originally, but his being here less than 10 years and being so “committed” so soon raises some red flags.

I’m going with the “desire to gain support/votes” option. As with the other “I support so and so” posts on here, all of em are MAGA candidates.

      Naaahhh nothing suspect there /s

  2. Girl.
I know this is totally off topic but from one woman to another:

Super dark black eyeliner on women over 50 washes out our faces something fierce. I was sad when I had to switch to browns and earthy tones from my deep burgundies and blacks, but we can’t look goth forever.

  3. Amber, so what is his experience that qualifies him to be our constable? Attending community events and praying doesn’t seem to be qualifying experience. Your endorsements are just fluffy and empty. If you can give real reasons these candidates are worthy instead of what feels like getting set-up on a blind date that would help. If this is all you have then I’m not sure you are qualified to be on the counsil.

  4. So after all that BS…..what qualifies him?Oh got it….working with people of diverse backgrounds. In other words working with the undesirables you forced on us.Our city has been destroyed by this administration. And again why does your opinion even matter?Just another politician hawking for votes to fill this administrations goals…not the taxpayer. The present constable seems to be doing a great job.

    1. WOW JD. You SERIOUSLY need to stop commenting on everything everywhere for the rest of your pathetic life.

That is the most bigoted shit I’ve seen you say (so far). How do you live with yourself, being such a HATEFUL excuse for a human? Do you have any friends, or have they all abandoned you for being like this? What about your family/kids? Do they still talk to you? I hate to break it to you, but if you wanna live in some 1950s all-white Utopian fantasyland, Arizona is not the place for you. Perhaps you should move to the deep south where the banjoes are a-pluckin’ and them there Confederate flags are a-wavin’ 24/7.

What happened to you to make you the way you are? Aren’t you just a tiny bit ashamed to be this way? Do you say these things to people in (real life)public, or is it only online where you can hide like a coward?

You are a SAD little person and I hope one day you can realize that your attitude is a learned behavior and can just as easily be unlearned if you ever want to become a decent human being someday. You should be ashamed but I guarantee you’re proud of yourself instead, which is astonishing.

  5. This is literally a nothing sandwich. Her opinion holds no value if there’s no logic. All this is is a headline for marketing with no meat in the article. The math isn’t mathing… I’ve been volunteering and praying in Maricopa since 2011… What should I run for then?
Wasn’t he a security guard? Is that what they keep referring to for “law enforcement”? Sounds a lot like the judge’s “law experience” from paralegal certification.
