Hope you’re hungry for a second helping of orange chicken (or plant-based chicken substitute, if you like).
California-based Panda Express wants to build a second location in Maricopa, but this time away from John Wayne Parkway, according to a public records request.
Developers submitted pre-application paperwork to the city’s planning department last week for a 2,700-square-foot drive-thru restaurant just west of the new Home Depot near Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road.
Although elevations and floor plans were not yet submitted, a project narrative stated the restaurant would feature an updated architectural style with “composite wood finishes and modern designed metal canopies” designed to “embrace the culture with a modern twist.”
Other proposed development projects in the area include a second standalone Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings and Circle K. None had moved forward yet in the planning or construction process.
