Duckpin bowling, karting, arcade games and a bar could be headed to Copper Sky.
Developers this week released a new rendering of the proposed Maricopa Entertainment Center, giving residents their first detailed look at a project envisioned as a year-round entertainment destination near Copper Sky Regional Park.
The concept calls for a 25,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor venue immediately west of the park. Planned attractions include duckpin bowling, karting, arcade games, a mixed-reality arena, social gaming, a multi-level climbing structure, a putting course, café, bar and event space. Plans also include a community gathering area with lawn games and an entertainment stage.
Developers are also exploring the possibility of adding a hotel or restaurant adjacent to the project.
“Providing important services right here in the city is good for Maricopa residents and the Maricopa economy,” developer Scott Bartle said. “Maricopans should spend their leisure time on the racetrack at Copper Sky, not the racetrack that is SR 347.”
Mayor Nancy Smith said the project has the potential to expand local entertainment options while complementing Copper Sky’s growing role as a destination for sports and events.
“It’s exciting to see Maricopa’s growth creating new opportunities for businesses and amenities that enhance life in our community,” Smith said.
Residents can view the rendering, learn more about the proposal and complete a brief survey at CopperSkyFun.com.
Scott Bartle is the publisher of InMaricopa.

Why would you do any of this? It’s a kid friendly park. Leave it at that AND why not make an indoor play area it’s Arizona !!!!
So how much????TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND.This is great for the tax free apartments full of non working section 8 while the hard working taxpayer is working their axes off and spending an additional two to three hours on the 347.Remember voters….this is Manfredis partner developing this.FULL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE FOR ALL HOLDING OFFICE….CITY,COUNTY,SCHOOL BOARD….TERM LIMITS…..VOTING DISCLOSURE ON ALL CITY,COUNTY,SCHOOL VOTES BY ELECTED OFFCIALS.
Why are you always so BUTTHURT? I MEAN, ALWAYA!!!!!
He’s like a poor man’s TAB, isn’t he?
What happened to us, FF? 😂😭
You seem to have a really huge issue with those apartments since every time you comment you’re screeching in all caps about them.
Do you honestly think people who don’t work just automatically *get* free housing? Did you know there’s requirements in order to qualify for it (such as a minimum income requirement per person/household), or are you just going off some imaginary nonsense because you’re too ignorant to look at the facts before making judgements? Do you know that seniors live there? The disabled? Do you have a problem with them, or…?
It takes 30 bloody seconds to Google this information like I just did but you’d rather get your britches in a twist on here so you can feel superior…or something who tf knows.
STOP POSTING COMMENTS, JD!
ALSO, NO ONE LIKES YOU AND YOU WILL DIE ALONE… 😂🤣😂
Wow, an entertainment park! It’ll pair beautifully with our thriving medical hospital and bustling medical student campus… oh, wait. Plot twist: those don’t exist.
I truly admire this town’s dedication to the lucrative ‘expensive survey’ industry. Why waste money on actual infrastructure when we can keep spending hundreds of thousands of dollars just to have a contractor write a report that will gather dust? Truly a masterclass in civic budgeting. (Shhh, keep the word ‘kickbacks’ on the down-low)!
How is this going to get done when they can’t even seem to plant trees? It is the most barren park in AZ I have been to.
Speaking of trees, in this rendering it’s ALL water hogging palm trees. Who is the genius deciding this is a great idea in the middle of the desert?
Why not plant native trees? Where’s the palo verdes, ironwoods, and mesquites? Where’s the drought tolerant xeriscaping with native plants and shrubs? Who’s gonna be footing the bill for all this excess water usage? Go-karts and an entertainment stage adjacent to a residential area? The noise alone is going to drop housing prices into the toilet.
