A Villages man is facing multiple felony charges, accused of sending sexually explicit messages and photos to a former student.

Maricopa police arrested 25-year-old William Senne on June 3 on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and furnishing harmful material. 

A teen girl told police April 30 that Senne, a former coach, began contacting her through Instagram and text messages in January, according to a probable cause statement. Their communication had been infrequent. 

The teen told officers Senne contacted her through Instagram on April 29 and asked what she would do if he sent her a photo of himself. She said that because of the message and earlier “unsettling” messages, she asked a friend to record the conversation and any disappearing images on their phone to avoid alerting Senne about screenshots, according to court documents.

Senne allegedly sent a number of sexual messages that day, including telling her that “if this happens you can’t tell anyone.” He sent her a shirtless photo, followed by an explicit photo of himself, according to a probable cause statement. 

The teen told police after the photos, she immediately blocked Senne. However, he allegedly attempted to contact her again on April 30, leading her to report the incident, according to a probable cause statement.

During the investigation, police learned Senne had been dismissed from a coaching position in 2022 for inappropriate late-night conversations with female students, the court documents state.

On June 3, police arrested Senne at his home after he allegedly admitted to sending the photos and knew the victim to be a minor. He told police it was “a moment of weakness,” according to the probable cause statement. 

Senne was booked on suspicion of luring a minor and furnishing harmful material to a minor. He could face at least 10 years in prison.
