A Hidden Valley dad arrested two months ago has pleaded guilty to the multiple counts of child abuse against him.
Pinal County Superior Court on Sept. 23 accepted the guilty plea on two felony charges of domestic child abuse from Anthoney Vincent Fragomeni, 26.
Pinal County sheriff’s deputies arrested Fragomeni Aug. 9 at his home near Amarillo Valley and Century Roads after they witnessed a two-minute video that showed him mercilessly beating his young daughter after she woke him up.
The responding officer said he saw Fragomeni drag his daughter by her hair and throw her, “making her fall to the hard floor causing her to cry.” He then struck her twice as she lay on the ground, “making her scream,” according to a police report.
The child attempted to run away, but Fragomeni continued hitting her hard enough for her to fall to the ground multiple times and scream in pain.
“At no time in the video did I observe Anthoney check her status or provide any form of care,” the deputy wrote in his report.
Fragomeni in a police interview admitted to his actions and said his daughter “didn’t deserve it,” according to the report. He said he was “pissed off” because the child woke him up.
Fragomeni’s sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 28. As a first-time offender, he faces between seven and 21 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, according to Salwin Law Group in Scottsdale.
