A Tortosa woman was arrested Sunday night after stabbing her husband, the Maricopa Police Department reports. Cops said the stabbing occurred when she went to heat up her dinner and found him already using the microwave.
Marlyna R. Rockwell, 37, faces assault and domestic violence charges, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.
It was just before 7 p.m. when cops responded to the couple’s Marin Avenue home after the husband reported a domestic violence incident there.
The husband told officers that he was using the microwave when Rockwell threatened violence against him if he didn’t let her use it at that second.
He said that Rockwell slammed the back of his head with the microwave door and stabbed him in the back with a plastic knife several times. Police noted the man had bloody cuts on his back.
Rockwell confirmed to the police that there was a fight between her and her husband, but would not go into detail, according to the police report.
Rockwell was arrested and booked into the Pinal County jail, where she faces a year behind bars.
