Knorr: The people of Maricopa are my bosses

As Election Day approaches, I am asking for your vote to continue serving our community on the Maricopa City Council.

Maricopa has been my home for over 20 years. I moved here because of its strong agricultural roots, small-town values, and reputation as a great place to raise a family. As a mother of four children, with three still attending our local schools, I have spent much of my adult life serving this community. I served 12 years on the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board, including two years as Board President. During that time, I worked alongside fellow board members, teachers, staff, and families to expand educational opportunities, increase teacher pay, and prepare our schools for a growing community.

Today, I continue to serve as a City Councilmember because I believe public service is about one thing: representing the people of Maricopa.

I have a simple philosophy when it comes to serving on the City Council: the residents of Maricopa are my bosses. Not developers. Not special interests. Not political organizations. Not campaign donors. I am proud to be a public servant, not a politician, and I never lose sight of the fact that I work for you.

That means listening to residents, being accessible, and asking tough questions regardless of appearances that may or may not make sense. Transparency and accountability matter, and residents deserve to be informed about how city dollars are spent. Major projects should always include meaningful public input before decisions are made.

I have demonstrated that commitment by asking difficult but necessary questions about the Wild West Music Fest, the Gallagher Compensation Study that left out our first responders, and the proposed Iconic Park project, where I believe residents deserve a meaningful voice before major decisions are made.

If reelected, I will continue fighting to complete the improvements to State Route 347 while advocating for additional roadway connections to Interstate 10 for residents on Maricopa’s east side.

Growth must pay for itself. Developers should contribute their fair share toward roads, infrastructure, public safety, and city services, and they should be held accountable for the commitments they make.

I also believe our local small businesses deserve strong support and every opportunity to compete for city projects and contracts.

As Primary Election Day approaches, I will continue to lead by example, holding myself to a higher standard as one of seven elected decision-makers. I will remain respectful, professional, and ethical. I welcome questions, constructive criticism, suggestions, and conversations that help answer your concerns. We may not always agree, but respectful dialogue is essential to making the best decisions for our community.

Public safety is the foundation of a thriving community. Nothing is more important than ensuring our residents feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, parks, and businesses. That means making sure our Police and Fire Departments have adequate staffing, competitive compensation,

modern equipment, and the resources they need to respond quickly and effectively as Maricopa continues to grow. My support for public safety isn’t just about supporting first responders-it’s about protecting every family that calls Maricopa home.

I am running on my record, my values, and my promises to the voters of Maricopa. I am proud to call Maricopa home and humbled by the opportunity to continue serving our great city. I am honored to have earned the endorsements of both our Police and Fire Unions, and I would be equally honored to earn your vote.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and your vote.
