Crews from the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department responded to a train fire this afternoon.
Firefighters from Station 575 on West Edison Road doused a fire under a locomotive on the Union Pacific tracks at White & Parker Road and Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, the department reported on Facebook.
No injuries were reported. InMaricopa.com has reached out to the department and will update this story if more information is provided.
Officials used the incident to remind motorists to slow down when driving near emergency personnel and vehicles, especially on busy roads.
