UPDATE Aug. 30 6:03 p.m.: The man arrested has been identified as 23-year-old Jordan Lincoln, according to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams.
ORIGINAL STORY Aug. 30 4:56 p.m.: A man who told police dispatchers that someone at Circle K was chasing him with a gun this afternoon was arrested after cops determined the call was a hoax.
The man who has not yet been identified was arrested just after 3:30 p.m. at the gas station on John Wayne Parkway near Smith-Enke Road on charges of making a false report and disorderly conduct.
“When officers arrived, they made contact with both parties and determined the call was a false report,” Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams told InMaricopa.
An MPD sergeant is working to confirm the identity of the man who was arrested.
“There were no weapons and video footage showed the reported dispute never occurred,” Williams said.
