Norman Wayne Walker

Norman Wayne Walker, 80, of Maricopa, passed away at home at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. Norm is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gerry, son Michael (Caitlin), daughter Tina (Bill) Lehman, and four adoring grandchildren.

Norm grew up in Eberfeld, Ind., where he attended elementary and high school.

He was born in Browder, Ky., and also lived in Indiana, Illinois and Arizona, where he enjoyed watching and participating in sports, playing cards, working around the house, and, most of all, loved spending time with his wife, family and friends.

Norm was known for being a hard worker and someone who valued a dollar. He had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor and loved to share his infectious laugh. He was a passionate Yankees, Celtics and Packers fan, who loved to talk about his favorite teams.

He would do anything for his friends and family, especially his grandkids, nephews and nieces.

Toward the end of Norm’s life, he was in a great deal of pain, and our family is grateful to know that he is finally at peace. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Mary Louise (Gibson) Walker, and his siblings Doris Jean (Walker) Backes, Ralph Walker and Josephine Walker.

Norm asked that his body be donated to science and that no services be held on his behalf.
