Maricopa voters would rather not show up to the polls than vote against incumbent Nancy Smith in the upcoming mayoral race, an InMaricopa poll of 277 city residents this week showed.
Smith’s opposition, ex-city councilman and former Maricopa Chamber of Commerce Vice Chair Leon Potter has remained silent on the coming election despite our many attempts to contact him.
InMaricopa asked its readers who they support in the race.
About half of voters, 47%, said they want no change in who sits at the mayor’s desk.
While 20% of readers said they are not planning to vote, only 15% said they would support Potter in the race.
One in 10 readers plan to write in someone else.
