Road construction crews had a few days off for cookouts and fireworks. Tonight, they’re back to work.

Overnight lane restrictions return to State Route 347 this week as crews complete asphalt paving between Maricopa and Riggs Roads, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Northbound lanes will be narrowed to one lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday. Southbound lanes will reduced to one lane during the same time frame Friday through Sunday.

Additional daytime and overnight lane restrictions are also planned on SR 347 during weekends for the remainder of July, though ADOT has not yet released details.

Overnight restrictions will also be in place this week for drivers on Interstate 10’s Wild Horse Pass Corridor.

East- and westbound I-10 traffic will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday between State Route 187 and Gas Line Road for barrier placement and maintenance.

Westbound traffic near the Gila River Bridge will also be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.

ADOT advises motorists to slow down in work zones, watch for crews and allow extra travel time during overnight construction.
