Terrible’s is getting closer to opening in Maricopa and a new city filing reveals what brand of gas will be under the canopy.

A comprehensive sign plan submitted Aug. 25 identifies the proposed gas station at the southwest corner of Honeycutt and Porter roads as Terrible Herbst-Chevron.

The 20-page plan shows Chevron branding on the fuel canopy and monument signs, along with Terrible’s signage on the building. The monument signs also include electronic fuel pricing.

Signs facing the residential neighborhood north of the property will be nonilluminated, according to the plan.

It’s the first major update on the project since November, when Maricopa City Council approved a rezoning request for the 2.21-acre property. Plans at the time called for a seven-pump gas station and 6,100-square-foot convenience store.

In April, Jean Ventures submitted a major development review permit for the building and vehicle canopy.
