Zoning board to review subdivisions, storage facility

New developments are always on the horizon in Maricopa and you can get a sneak peek at some next week.

Maricopa’s Planning and Zoning Commission will review three cases and hear public comments on upcoming subdivisions and commercial projects around the city during their Monday meeting. Wondering what’s in store? Here’s what to expect:

Discussion on Stonegate development

The first time on the agenda has commissioners reviewing and discussing a major development review permit for the Roers Stonegate multi-family development. This permit is required for new or modified structures over 5,000 square feet.

Sitting on about 9.5 acres near Stonegate Road and Alan Stephens Parkway, the development will have seven 3-story buildings with a total 216 units, as well as 2.7 acres of open space and 404 parking spaces.

U-Haul on Honeycutt

Another agenda item includes a review and discussion of a major development review permit for the proposed U-Haul on Honeycutt Road and Continental Boulevard. The plans include three buildings dedicated to storage and truck rentals, totaling more than 159,000 square feet.

Floor plans do not illustrate any dedicated office space for regional corporate employees as previously indicated, but could exist in the large showroom in one building.

Anderson Farms approval

Finally, commissioners will discuss and vote on approving preliminary plans for phase two of the Anderson Farms subdivision near Hartman Road and Anderson Farms Boulevard.

About 372 residential lots are strewn across more than 50 acres, with homes ranging between 740 and 1,450 square feet. Developer Lennar Arizona said this was “an effort to integrate attainable housing options” in Maricopa.
