More than 65% of the 527 crashes reported on Maricopa roads last year resulted in injuries, and 4 were fatal, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT released the 2025 crash data last week alongside statewide numbers showing a decline in traffic fatalities.

John Wayne Parkway and State Route 347 accounted for the most crashes among the roads listed, totaling 154 collisions. Honeycutt Road had 56 and Smith-Enke Road had 48. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway recorded 30 crashes, followed by Porter Road with 25, Edison Road with 23 and State Route 238 with 14.

Of the 527 crashes reported in Maricopa, 344 resulted in injuries. The data shows 322 motorists were injured.

Thirty-seven crashes involved alcohol, while five involved unspecified drugs, according to ADOT.

Statewide, Arizona recorded 1,156 traffic fatalities in 2025, a 5.2% decrease from the previous year. The state also recorded 118,052 crashes, down 4.4% from 123,535 in 2024.

But while statewide numbers declined, Maricopa has already recorded at least six traffic fatalities this year. Four of those deaths occurred on SR 347 and others occurred on Honeycutt Road and State Route 84 near Stanfield.
