Two vehicle burglaries in as many days last month have some Rancho El Dorado residents on high alert.
An unidentified person stole about $3,300 worth of tools in the early morning hours of Sept. 17 from a Chevy Silverado parked on Michaels Drive in Rancho El Dorado, according to a police report obtained yesterday by InMaricopa. The owner of the truck, Juan Ornelas, told Maricopa Police Department officers someone stole three toolboxes and a spray-paint machine.
Although Ornelas had a home security camera rolling, the footage only showed a white car stop near the home around 2 a.m. A person was not seen on camera.
The following day, another Rancho El Dorado home was hit, about 1 mile away.
An unidentified person broke into a work truck parked at a home on Bravo Court around 3 a.m. and stole tools belonging to homeowner Dan Sarmento before riding away on a bicycle.
Sarmento shared screenshots captured from his surveillance camera that show a person wearing a white hoodie and a backpack searching through the vehicle twice within a one-hour window.
The burglars remain at large.
