Barro’s Pizza of Maricopa is turning 18 soon, and it’s ready for a new home come spring.
The Gilbert-based pizza chain confirmed it will move into the old Pizza Hut location at 21101 N. John Wayne Parkway, Suite E102, in March.
General Manager Mike Hull said: “it’s time to switch it up a little bit.”
“Every once in a while, Barro’s will move locations a mile or two away. Usually, it brings a little more business when you move,” he told InMaricopa this morning.
Hull said the move will provide the pizzeria with a much larger kitchen space to accommodate orders — something he admitted the restaurant needs — but with the downside of a smaller indoor dining area. However, the restaurant will gain a new patio dining area on the north side of the building.
Last month, Pizza Hut moved into a newer, smaller suite four doors down from its previous location.
This will be the first big change for Barro’s since it expanded into the old Radio Shack space in 2014 and its first move since it opened at its Smith-Enke Road in 2007.
