The nation’s most internet-famous deputy, Frank Sloup, disciplines drivers on State Route 347 in today’s episode of “Fridays with Frank,” a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office series with some 433 million total views on YouTube.
“During the course of Fridays with Frank, we’ve had a whole bunch of complaints about speeders on 347,” Sloup said in the episode titled “Flying Down the 347.”
He said his goal was to catch speeders and tell them to slow their roll. Sloup stopped a Chevrolet Equinox going 89 miles per hour in a 65 zone, a Nissan Sentra going 81 miles per hour with illegally tinted windows and a Chevy Tahoe with expired registration.
Last week’s episode, “I Know More Than You,” featured a snippy BMW driver on SR 347 who tried to tell Sloup he knew the law better after allegedly failing to move over when he saw Sloup’s red and blue lights.
The online celebrity cop in April was featured on the cover of InMaricopa magazine. We got to know him in our cover story that month, “COPARAZZI: TikTok famous ‘copfluencer’ made his name here.”
Sloup’s undercover two-tone Dodge Charger these days is perhaps more recognizable in Maricopa than a marked police car, at least among his fans.
Several Maricopans took to the Find Frank group on Facebook and shared photos of him stopping drivers last week.
“I think he was looking at me!” Brandon Orozco said with a nervous emoji Nov. 21, sharing a photo of Sloup conducting a traffic stop. Ciera Powers shared a picture that she took with Sloup at Maricopa’s Gyro Grill, where he must’ve switched from stopping cars to stopping his hunger Nov. 19.
