Crispy cravings: 7 Maricopa spots for National Fried Chicken Day

If there were ever a day to indulge in comfort food, it’s today.

National Fried Chicken Day is celebrated annually on July 6, giving fried chicken fans the perfect excuse to dig into everything from crispy tenders to chicken sandwiches. Here are a few local restaurants worth checking out.

Arroyo Grille
48456 State Route 238

This restaurant is still under construction, but you can enjoy their crispy chicken tenders with your choice of BBQ, ranch or buffalo sauce.

Asian Seoul’s Copa Kitchen
20924 N. John Wayne Parkway

You can get wings anywhere in the city, but where else can you find Korean fried chicken wings? These are double fried, so wings come out extra crispy and are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy when ordered with the original sauce.

Duke’s Roadhouse
19395 N. John Wayne Parkway

The chicken tenders are an obvious option here but we also like the hot honey chicken sandwich, which comes topped with bacon, mayo and candied jalapenos.

KFC
21566 N. John Wayne Parkway

This spot is probably on the controversial side, but occasionally we get lucky on the buckets of chicken. Today they’re offering a 12-piece bucket for just $15.

Native Grill & Wings
21164 N. John Wayne Parkway

Your options include a basket of chicken strippers or their chicken fried chicken slider, a little sandwich topped with lettuce, mayo and perfectly placed pickles.

The Silver Spur Grill
42660 W. Rancho El Dorado Parkway

Enjoy a classic comfort meal such as the country fried chicken for breakfast or tenders for dinner.

Slim Chickens
41740 Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway

For something a little different, we like alternating between their buffalo mac and cheese bowl and their chicken and waffles. Both are served with perfectly fried chicken tenders and just enough carbs to avoid a mid-day nap.
