Community members gathered yesterday to celebrate the opening of the new Dignity Health Family Medicine Clinic in the Maricopa Professional Village plaza.

The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches from Dignity Health and Maricopa leaders and tours of the facility.

“Today marks a significant milestone here in the community,” said Dignity Health Hospital Administration President Mario Garner.

Though Dignity Health has an urgent care clinic just a half-mile south in the Shops at Maricopa Fiesta, this is their first family practice clinic in Maricopa.

The family health clinic intends to focus on wellness and preventative care, immunizations and health screenings, sports physicals, low risk obstetrics and gynecology, mental health services and lab services.

The 21300 N. John Wayne Parkway clinic is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We’re sharing the celebration with the community and donors today and we’re also already looking at what else we can add to this community,” said Abed Asfour, Interim Enterprise President for Dignity Health.

The practice is dedicated to delivering high quality, compassionate care and access to Maricopa and nearby communities, according to the Dignity Care website.

Mayor Nancy Smith, who briefly spoke at the event, also hinted at one of the best perks about the clinic opening.

“This is a beautiful partnership between Dignity Health and Maricopa,” she said. “The best part is you won’t have to travel the 347.”
