Maricopa’s newest indoor sports facility is ready for its close-up.

The Fieldhouse at Copper Sky will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Oct. 10, giving residents their first chance to explore the city’s new indoor recreation space.

The free event runs from 9 a.m. to noon, 17985 W. Greythorn Drive, and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, sports activities, food trucks and professional wrestling.

Visitors can shoot hoops, play volleyball and pickleball, take part in arts and crafts and let kids burn off some energy in an inflatable play area. Phoenix Championship Wrestling also will put on a professional wrestling show.

The 42,000-square-foot facility has been in the works for more than two years.

The city first proposed the project in 2024 as a $16.2 million facility designed to add indoor court space as Maricopa’s recreation programs continued to grow. Construction began in June 2025.

The building can accommodate four basketball courts, six volleyball courts and 12 pickleball courts, although not all courts can be used simultaneously. City officials have said the additional space is needed as Copper Sky’s existing facilities have become increasingly booked.
