Maricopa Police Department faults a car in a Rancho El Dorado crash yesterday morning that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital.

It was just before 11:30 a.m. when MPD and Maricopa Fire/Medical Department responded to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Vintage Drive and Rancho El Dorado Parkway.

MPD spokesperson Monica Williams said a car that was driving west on Rancho El Dorado Parkway was making a left-hand turn onto Vintage Drive when it failed to yield to a motorcycle continuing straight through the intersection and the two collided.

Firefighters requested transport for two people and said one had sustained “critical injuries.”

“We’re going to have one immediate patient and one delayed patient,” first responders said over the radio. “So, we’re going to have a total of two.”

However, Willaims told InMaricopa only the motorcyclist, who “sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” was transported to a local hospital while the driver of the car remained on scene and was cited for failure to yield.
