‘F*ck him up’: Brothers busted in Bashas’ boost

Two brothers were jailed Tuesday night after a failed attempt to steal hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries from a Maricopa supermarket.

Maricopa Police Department arrested 22-year-old Clint A. Joaquin on charges of resisting arrest, shoplifting, failing to comply, criminal nuisance, threatening and intimidating, and possessing an open container. His 19-year-old brother, Colton Joaquin, was also nabbed for shoplifting.

Cops responded to Bashas’ in the Maricopa Fiesta plaza on John Wayne Parkway at about 9:45 p.m. where staffers gave police a description of the brothers and their car, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

An employee told police that the pair pushed a full cart of about $600 worth of unpaid groceries out of the store, and when confronted, Clint reportedly told the employee he would “f*ck him up.”

For reference, that’s the value of 775 glazed donuts at Bashas’.

Police found the Joaquin brothers on John Wayne Parkway near Alterra Parkway South where they flicked on their red-and-blue lights.

While officers handcuffed Colton, they demanded Clint place his hands on the car’s headrest and keep them there. Clint reportedly refused and “dug his hands into his front pant pockets,” leading the officers to open his driver’s side door and pull him out, the statement said.

Clint reportedly continued to resist arrest before cops “decentralized” him and took him to the ground in the road.

After both brothers were arrested, a search of the car uncovered several open containers of alcohol and the stolen merchandise. They were both booked into the Pinal County jail.

Because Clint had been previously found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Maricopa County in 2021, his felony charge was elevated, and he faces more than four-and-a half years in prison. Colton faces six months in jail.
