Leach: Community starts with conversation

In a time when it often feels like people are more divided than connected, I believe something simple still makes a powerful difference just showing up: having conversations and listening to one another.

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me this Saturday, April 11, for a casual Meet & Greet at Water & Ice, 20928 N. John Wayne Pkwy., from noon to 3 p.m.

This isn’t a formal event. There’s no stage, no script, just real conversations with real people. Whether you have questions, concerns, ideas or just want to introduce yourself, I’ll be there and ready to listen.

And to make it a little more fun for families, bring your son or daughter and ask me a question, I’ll buy them an ice cream cone. Because community engagement should be welcoming, approachable and, yes, even a little sweet.

I also want to take a moment to highlight something truly special happening right here in our community: Copa Closet.

Located at Maricopa High School, it provides clothing, hygiene products and essential items to local teenagers who need a little extra support. It’s a reminder that behind every student is a story and sometimes a helping hand can make all the difference.

At this event, I’ll be accepting donations for Copa Closet. If you’re able, consider bringing items like:

  • Gently used or new clothing
  • Hygiene products
  • Everyday essentials for teens

This meet & greet is about more than just conversation, it’s about connection, compassion and community action.

So, stop by, say hello, ask a question, and be part of something meaningful. I look forward to seeing you there.

I appreciate your support and make it a GREAT day.

Adam Leach, Maricopa City Council candidate
