Maricopa cops tracked down a California fugitive Tuesday.
Police pulled over Hidden Valley resident Igena Theresa Cooter, 51, at the Circle K gas station on the corner of Bowlin Road and John Wayne Parkway. This is the same gas station that a Maricopa officer was shot trying to arrest another fugitive less than a week ago.
Cooter had a warrant out of Santa Clara County, Calif., for two felony counts of insurance fraud and perjury, according to a Santa Clara Sheriff’s deputy. Cooter was wanted for skipping out on a $20,000 bond with the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department.

“We have already initiated the process” to extradite Cooter back to California, the Santa Clara Sheriff’s deputy told InMaricopa Wednesday.
Cooter was a home health aide in Santa Clara until 2020, according to her LinkedIn profile. She’s lived in family home in Hidden Valley since 2021, according to her Facebook profile and public records. She has a very lengthy criminal record.
