Maricopa Meadows man indicted on 10 child sex exploitation counts

Kevin Gene Cannon, 43. [Pinal County Sheriff’s Office]

A Maricopa Meadows man remains in jail after he was indicted Wednesday on 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Kevin Gene Cannon, 43, of Dutchman Drive, was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Friday in the Maricopa Meadows and booked into the Pinal County jail, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Cannon was charged in Pinal County Superior Court with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor involving distribution, transportation or sale. Each count is a Class 2 felony.

He was indicted April 29 and is scheduled for arraignment May 8.

The case drew concern from at least one neighbor who contacted InMaricopa after learning of the arrest.

“This needs to get out to protect families,” the tipster said.

It was not immediately clear whether investigators believe any children in Maricopa were victims in the case. Court records are under seal.

Cannon remained in custody Thursday morning, according to PCSO.

An indictment is not a conviction. Cannon is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
