More than 500 affected by power outage in Hidden Valley

More than 500 people in unincorporated western Pinal County are without power as temperatures are expected to reach 108 degrees.

The Electrical District No. 3 outage began around 12:45 p.m. today in Hidden Valley and Thunderbird Farms, due to a downed powerline. Power is expected to resume by 4 p.m., according to the utility’s website.

The outage left 524 households without power as temperatures are expected to reach 108 degrees, the hottest day so far this year.

InMaricopa contacted ED3 for details about what led to the outage.
