UPDATE 3:32 p.m., Sept. 1, 2026: Minor injuries were reported in a crash involving two vehicles on Smith-Enke Road and Desert Greens Drive this afternoon.

A preliminary investigation showed the crash occurred when one vehicle turned left onto Desert Greens Drive and collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound on Smith-Enke Road.

ORIGINAL STORY 2:30 p.m., Sept. 1, 2026: Maricopa police and fire crews are responding to a 2-vehicle crash near Smith-Enke Road and Desert Greens Drive.

The crash was reported around 1:57 p.m. Westbound and one eastbound lane were temporarily closed.

The cause of the crash and any injuries are unknown.
