Maricopa police are investigating reports of gunshots heard early Sunday morning in the Senita neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. to the area of Santa Rosa and Estrada roads after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers canvassed the area but did not find evidence that a firearm had been discharged.

Later that morning, a resident contacted Maricopa Police Department to report their parked vehicle may have been struck by a bullet.

The investigation is ongoing and police have requested residents near Santa Rosa and Estrada roads check their security cameras and contact MPD if they witnessed anything that could assist the investigation.
