Fire crews are working to extinguish a residential fire in Maricopa’s Villages neighborhood this morning.

Crews were dispatched just before 9 a.m. to a home near Butterfield Parkway and Snow Drive. The blaze began as a grease fire, and residents safely evacuated, according to the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department.

Snow Drive is blocked from Butterfield Trail. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use an alternate route while crews work.
