Be Awesome Inc. is inviting Maricopa families to break out their big hats and bow ties tomorrow for a Kentucky Derby-themed tea party fundraiser supporting local youth programs.

The nonprofit’s “Run for the Roses” Kentucky Derby Tea Party is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event is hosted by Global Water Resources.

The family-friendly fundraiser will feature a festive tea party atmosphere, a best hat contest, photo opportunities, raffle prizes and Derby-themed activities for all ages. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 18 and younger.

“At Be Awesome, we believe in preventing a crisis before it starts,” said Executive Director Priscilla Behnke. “This event is more than just a fun afternoon; it’s an opportunity for families to come together and invest in the future of our youth.”

Proceeds from the event will support Be Awesome’s mentoring, education and community programs, including after-school initiatives and teen leadership opportunities that serve hundreds of local youths each year.

The fundraiser also includes a donor match opportunity of up to $5,000, meaning tickets and donations can go further toward supporting youth and families in Maricopa, according to the nonprofit.

Community members are encouraged to bring a friend, sponsor a seat or dress in Derby attire.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available at BeAwesomeYouth.life/Tea-Party.

Be Awesome Inc. is a Maricopa-based nonprofit focused on helping youth become confident, connected and successful through mentoring, education and community programs, including Space Camp and teen leadership opportunities.
