The city of Maricopa’s website is getting a facelift, and it’s more than just cosmetic.
City council members and the public got a sneak peek at the updated website during Tuesday’s meeting.
It’s part of a two-year endeavor to not only give the website a sleeker look but also making information easier to find and meeting updated accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Some of the upgrades include an updated search engine with predictive text, a color-coded events calendar and popup community announcement banners for events like road closures or safety alerts.
The updated website is scheduled to go live Tuesday, April 21 at 9 a.m., with a seamless transition expected for visitors.
“[Users] won’t lose access, they won’t hit a 404 error. It’ll all be completely seamless, and it’ll seem like they were just popping around a new page,” said Communications Coordinator Luis Vila.
