Creepy man threatens to kill woman, 21, in fit of road rage: video

An unhinged driver reportedly told a young woman, “I will put a bullet in your head,” at the intersection of two main roads in Maricopa last Sunday.

The woman, shaken, called the cops after she was threatened and nearly hunted down by her aggressor. Maricopa Police Department documented the incident around 1 p.m. that day, a spokesperson confirmed this afternoon.

Tortosa resident Jordin Amato, 21, was driving down Honeycutt Road on her way home from a friend’s house in The Villages when a man in a white Lexus, who was speeding “extremely fast,” began tailgating her, she told InMaricopa.

After nearly striking her car, the angry man pulled up next to Amato at a red light at the Porter Road intersection, rolled down his window and said, “I will put a bullet in your head,” Amato recounted.

Much of the interaction was caught on tape.

“Stupid b*tch,” the Lexus driver, who wore a blue “wifebeater” tank top, is heard saying in video footage obtained by InMaricopa. “You don’t f*cking know who you’re dealing with, you dumb f*cking c**t.”

Amato had two of her friends in the car. One friend, seated in the passenger’s seat, captured the video with her cell phone.

After the light turned green, Amato reports the road rager continued to follow her for some time until she “tricked him” by faking a turn into a neighborhood.

“I was so nervous,” Amato said.

When she finally freed herself from his pursuit, she called the cops because she believed he had a gun, Amato said.

While police noted “the male driver was threatening to shoot” Amato, but “the individual never showed the caller or passenger a weapon,” MPD spokesperson Monica Williams said.

The man is described as skinny, bald, dark-skinned and around age 50.

“The information was entered as an ‘Attempt to Locate’ call, which means our officers on duty received the description, so anyone nearby looked for the vehicle,” Williams said. “In this case, it was not located.”

Williams shared some tips for people who encounter an aggressive driver on the road in Maricopa:

  • Let the other driver pass. Road rage drivers are usually in a hurry, so getting out of their way will allow them to move on and keep everyone safe. Once they pass, you can go back to driving normally or even pull over if you need to calm down.
  • Don’t make eye contact. Angry drivers may want to intimidate you or seek out conflict. Ignoring them and focusing on the road can encourage them to move on.
  • Contact MPD. Be prepared to provide any identifying information, including a description of the offending vehicle and its license plate number, as well as your location and direction of travel.
  • Don’t go home or find a safe place to stop. If the offending driver follows you or engages in more aggressive behavior, drive to a busy public site with witnesses or, better yet, a police station. Keep the windows up and the car doors locked.
